On May 7-10, we’re heading back to the Great Smoky Mountains for a four-day Smoky 600 rally through the region’s finest roads—complete with exhilarating pit stops and activities along the way (such as a track day at NCM Motorsports park and bourbon distillery tours). Our trip just got even more exciting. IMSA and five-time Trans-Am champion Tommy Kendall will be joining us t00.

In addition to coming along for the ride, he will be giving Smoky 600 attendees a unique motorsport experience. During our track day at NCM Motorsports Park, he will take guests on high-speed hot laps around the track. Getting to say you’ve ridden shotgun with a professional driver comes with serious bragging rights. He’ll also give rally participants a sneak peek into the world of motorsport with an exclusive fireside chat with R&T Editor-in-Chief Dan Pund.

Kendall is a long-time racer who has run in IMSA, NASCAR, and the SCCA. He has also run at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, most recently as a factory driver for Dodge's short-lived SRT Viper GT program. He is a long-time NASCAR “road course ringer” as well as having the unique experience of being one of the few American drivers to have completed in Australia's iconic Bathurst 1000 touring car race. In 2015, the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America inducted Tommy Kendall for his contributions to racing.
