IndyCar's Will Power Cleared to Race Following Watkins Glen Crash
Following a bad wreck at this weekend's IndyCar race at Watkins Glen, there was some fear that Australian driver Will Power wouldn't be healthy enough to race at the season-ender at Sonoma Raceway. This would effectively hand the championship to teammate Simon Pagenaud, but thankfully for Power, that won't be the case.
The IndyCar Series announced Tuesday that Power has been cleared to race at Sonoma after undergoing concussion testing at the University of Miami Concussion Center. Power made contact with driver Charlie Kimball before going into the wall late at the Watkins Glen race.

"Will is doing fine," said Dr. Stephen Olvey, the physician who administered Power's tests, in a statement. "We conducted two sophisticated tests to determine if he'd suffered a concussion over the weekend, and he passed both of them with no issue whatsoever."
Power, who won the IndyCar Series championship in 2014, trails Pagenaud by 43 points heading into the September 18th race at Sonoma. Since Sonoma is a double points race, with 100 points going to the winner, Power still has a shot at the title, despite finishing 20th at the Glen.
