The Chevrolet Volt's interior prioritizes function over form; it suffers from a few dowdy design details and a criminally small back seat. Creature comforts are lacking, too, and despite the car's price, the Volt's cabin doesn't feel special.

What's New for 2019?

Until Chevy improves the materials inside and increases back-seat space, the Volt's interior will fail to impress anyone. However, the company has made a few changes to its otherwise practical cabin. A power-adjustable driver's seat can now be found on the Volt. It's optional on the LT model and standard on the Premier. Along with the different designs now available on the cloth seats, the Premier trim adds a Jet Black and Porcelain Blue interior theme.

Blind Spots, Visibility, and Obscured Roadway

Roof pillars protect occupants in a rollover crash, but they also create blind spots. We determine visibility by measuring the location and width of each pillar using an H-Point Machine and a laser beam (surrogates for a driver and eyeball, respectively). Front and rear visibility are calculated by subtracting the viewable area blocked by the pillars from a perfect 180-degree score.

Other than these new options, the cabin of the 2019 Volt is the same as the 2018 model. For more information on the interior, read our in-depth review of the 2018 Chevy Volt.
