Yahoo Autos Some Jerk Stole a Bunch of Racing Memorabilia From Le Mans Winner Oliver Gavin
Well, this sucks. Oliver Gavin, longtime Corvette Racing driver and all-around great guy, had his home broken into recently. Thankfully, Gavin says his family is shaken, but okay-but the thieves made off with a whole bunch of racing gear and memorabilia from his long motorsports career.
Gavin reported this unfortunate news via Twitter, and shared pictures of some of the items stolen. One of his helmets was taken, as well as six coins commemorating his many starts at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Gavin has five class victories at Le Mans with Corvette Racing, but more importantly, he's one of the nicest people in racing. As his tweets say, be on the lookout for these items on eBay or elsewhere. Hopefully we can help return them to their rightful owner.
