Ken Block Is Coming Back to Rally

Update 4/17/2018: The Hoonigans just released a video documenting Block's first gravel stage shakedown runs with his newly updated Escort Cosworth, which you can (and should) watch below. In case you're wondering, yes, there are plenty of slides and jumps involved.

If you're an avid Road & Track reader, you'll remember us telling you about Ken Block's fantastic Ford Escort Cosworth, which he purchased back in October. Well, now we know why he bought it: he's gonna race it.

Block revealed yesterday on the Hoonigan YouTube channel he will be taking his Escort Cosworth rallying in America in the 2018 American Rally Association Championship. The car's been completely revamped by Hoonigan to conquer the stages, with a modified roll cage, a rear-exit exhaust (for street-legality purposes), and an all new livery designed by Death Spray Custom.

Block will be racing in the Oregon Trail Rally, the New England Forest Rally (which I, humble brag, have also participated in), and the Idaho Rally International, going up against Subaru-backed heavyweights David Higgins and Travis Pastrana. Additionally, Block will compete in the rallycross at Circuit of the Americas, the Rallycross Trois-Rivieres, the FIA World Rallycross of USA, and the twelfth round of the World Rally Championship in Catalunya.

Sounds like a busy 2018 for Mr. Block.
