Kia is continuing the long lead-up to the debut of its new Telluride three-row SUV with a quartet of highly modified off-road prototypes for the SEMA show. This tides us over a bit until the debut of the production Telluride, which will be Kia's largest SUV offering when it is officially revealed at the Detroit auto show in January 2019.

Kia first showed an adorned version of the Telluride earlier this year for New York Fashion Week, but these SEMA show cars take a different approach and are focused on all-terrain performance. Each of these modified Telluride models has a robust chassis setup with more suspension travel, a wider track than the standard car, and various bump stops, special struts, and adjustable dampers that are meant to hold up to rough terrain. Each also has giant 32-inch Milestar Patagonia Mud Terrain tires and a straight-pipe exhaust that should make the V-6 engine sound more dramatic than stock. All-wheel drive is on the menu, of course. These builds were undertaken by LGE-CTS Motorsports.

This Telluride's orange paint is eye-catching, as are its brush guard and its big roof rack with an LED light bar. Legitimizing its off-road cred, there's a snorkel for fording water.

The military theme carries through on this Telluride thanks to the green-and-black paint scheme, while a brush guard, a roof rack, and carriers on the rear quarter-panels toughen up the look further.

This Telluride may claim sand as its natural environment, but, apart from its desert-themed paint job, it packs most of the same modifications as the other off-road Tellurides.
