LA County expected to require proof of vaccination or negative test for Rams games

Fans attending Rams games beginning on Oct. 7 will be required to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test to get into SoFi Stadium. This is due to a local health order that’s expected to be issued by Los Angeles County this week requiring people to show proof of vaccination to get into indoor bars, wineries, breweries, nightclubs and lounges.

The order also applies to other “outdoor mega-events” such as Chargers and Dodgers games. The negative test must be within the last 72 hours. Fans have also been required to wear masks to games, which was put in place in April.

“This modified health officer order aligns with the continued need to reduce risk of transmission and increase vaccination coverage,” County Public Health Director Dr. Barbara Ferrer said, via FOX 11 in LA. “This is a reasonable path forward that will position us to be better able to break the cycle of surges.”

The Rams’ first home game after the order goes into effect on Oct. 7 will be Oct. 24 against the Detroit Lions in week 7.
