Land Rover Adds Finest All-Terrain Range Rover Variant to Lineup

Land Rover claims that it is introducing the “world’s finest all-terrain SUV” with the addition of the 2017 Range Rover SVAutobiography Dynamic, available this fall. The British SUV maker says the new SVAutobiography Dynamic combines ultimate power, new driving technologies—such as an All-Terrain Progress Control System (ATPC)—and a special low-traction system for enhanced driving dynamics in a refined package. Retail pricing for the newest Rover variant is $170,995.

This “refined and capable” new large premium SUV variant has been developed by Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division. On-road performance has been enhanced and heightened with Land Rover’s supercharged V-8 that generates 550 horsepower and 502 lb.-ft. of torque in partnership with Germany’s ZF 8-speed automatic transmission.

The Dynamic variant is set up on the standard wheelbase with specially tuned suspension for what Land Rover describes as “road holding agility.” The height has been dropped slightly and it features tuned suspension and a Dynamic Response System to reduce body roll. New driver-assistance technologies include Advanced Tow Assist, which adjusts vehicle speed to tow package and driving environment. Blind-spot monitors and lane-departure sensors are also part of the new premium SUV’s safety systems.

In the cockpit, new elements include a 10.2-in. touch-screen display for the In Control Touch Pro infotainment system and new zoom tablet-style customizable pages. Multi-level adjustable leather seats finished in a quilted diamond pattern are available in four colors to complement an ebony headliner. The dashboard and door panels feature black veneer with red accents. Paddle shifters on the Dynamic variant are anodized red and the SUV has a matching driver's handbook in leather.

The newest, high-end Range Rover looks like other Range Rovers except that it features unique side vents, grille, front bumper accents, and badges finished in Graphite Atlas Gray. Customers have a choice of 21- or 22-in. alloy wheel designs in different finishes. Optional red brake calipers and Brembo brake technology also can be ordered.
