Launching the 2023 CR-V, Honda Opts for Thin Headlamps, Larger Grille

We'll have to wait for details, but Honda will deliver an all-new CR-V crossover to the US market this summer. At this point, all we know is what Honda is promising in the new CR-V: rugged and sophisticated design, increased versatility, and a more advanced hybrid system for sportier driving. And we know this all-new CR-V hybrid will be followed by hybrid versions of the Accord and Civic sedans as part of Honda's electrification strategy.

The CR-V has come a long way since it first arrived in 1997. A teaser image released by Honda shows sleek, angular headlamps and a grille that appears to be larger than that in the outgoing model. There's much riding on the new CR-V, as it consistently is Honda's best-selling vehicle in the US. The CR-V has been a leader among midsize crossovers, trailing only the Toyota RAV4. Through the first quarter this year, Honda has sold 58,579 CR-Vs in the US.

More information about the 2023 CR-V will drop in mid-July in what Honda declares as the “Year of the SUV.”
