Lia and Lucy Block Are Returning to RallyHoonigan

Lia and Lucy Block are officially slated to compete in the rest of this year’s Green APU American Rally Association series, DirtFish reports. The pair will make their return to the dirt next month at the 100 Acre Wood Rally, an event where Ken Block scored seven wins over the years.

Derek Daunchey, team manager and friend of the Block family, was the one to confirm the news to DirtFish. Daunchey said Lucy will compete in the same Ford Fiesta Rally3 she campaigned last season. Lia is leaving her Ford Fiesta Rally3 behind for 2023 however, instead moving to the rear-drive Subaru BRZ. The car in question was previously campaigned by Derik Nelson.

Lucy Block will be joined in the Fiesta by co-driver Alex Gelsomino, who previously sat alongside Ken during his ARA endeavors. Gelsomino is a co-founder of the team, and will be replacing Michelle Miller in that co-driver role. Gelsomino’s wife Rhianon will join Lia in the BRZ as a co-driver.

“Rally was such an important part of Ken’s life and this fondness for the sport has spread throughout the whole Block family, so I’m pleased we will run this event,” Daunchey told DirtFish. “We also plan to enter the remaining ARA rounds and look forward to meeting everyone who makes the sport work on each rally.”

The automotive world was struck a massive blow when Ken Block passed away in early January. Lucy and Lia will undoubtedly have the support of the rally community when they make their ARA return next month in Missouri.

The 100 Acre Wood Rally will take place on March 17-18.
