Lightning McQueen Can't Handle the Future

Besides the troubling questions that have now arisen about how the cars in the Cars franchise are alive, the new Cars movie seems to take issue with technology, namely how the younger generation of cars are using it to become better on the track.

That makes Cars 3 the antithesis of the original Cars, where Lightning McQueen was the young upstart who had to learn how to respect the elders. Suddenly, McQueen is the elder, and he doesn't understand the younger generation's approach to motorsports. Simulators and other equipment scare and confuse McQueen, who apparently prefers to drive on a beach against another car that doesn't look like a race car in any way.

However, we bet McQueen ends up winning one last time to show the new kids that sims and technology are all well and good, but the old fashioned ways are still more than able to make someone win.
