When the folks at Best Motoring conceived this race between a handful of modified Honda S2000s and Civic Type Rs, I doubt they imagined this aural result. The racing is great, but what we really love is the sound. Six high-strung, naturally aspirated inline-fours revving beyond 8000 rpm combine to make a noise that isn't so much automotive as it is . . . apiary. This is almost certainly the most VTEC you've heard since the first time you watched The Fast and the Furious.
Best Motoring conceived this Tsukaba Circuit race as a battle between rear- and front-wheel drive, but you'll need to watch the video to see which drivetrain configuration wins. Just make sure you have your headphones on.
