From Road & Track

Ever since Aston Martin revealed its new Vantage GTE race car in November, we've been dying to see it on track. Now, thanks to this video from Monza in Italy, our wishes have finally been granted.

Like its road-going sibling, the Vantage GTE uses an AMG-sourced 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 sending power to the rear wheels. Since Mercedes doesn't use its 4.0-liter engine to compete in GT3, Aston Martin had to do the race tuning themselves. According to the company, the car's already seen over 8000 miles of testing, including a 30-hour endurance run at Jarama in Spain.

Aston Martin plans on fielding the Vantage in this year's World Endurance Championship 2018/2019 super season, starting with the Spa-Francorchamps 6 Hours on May 3rd-a little over two weeks away. Watch and listen for yourself as it rows up and down the gears at Monza's tight hairpins and long straights.
