The Purosangue, Ferrari's first-ever SUV, is set to debut later this year. We know it'll have a naturally aspirated V-12, contrary to rumors the car would come powered by the company's more widely-used twin-turbo V-8 power plant. Now, thanks to spy video out of Italy, we have a good idea what the super-SUV will sound like.

YouTube Varryx was on the scene near Ferrari's factory in Maranello when they caught a few clips of a Purosangue test mule driving by on the street. Once the car gets moving, it's easy to identify the V-12 soundtrack blasting from the quad exhaust pipes. It reminds us a lot of the GTC4 Lusso's exhaust note.

Up until now, every spy video of the Purosangue we've seen has featured a fairly muted exhaust note. Clearly, Ferrari wanted to hide the car's engine sound until it was ready to reveal what sort of powertrain would be lying under the hood. Now that the V-12 is official, it has no reason to dull the prototype's noise any longer. Seeing as how complete this test mule looks, we suspect it won't be long until the car is revealed in full.
