Live music returns to Como Park Zoo and American Swedish Institute

Jul. 3—Live music is back at two Twin Cities institutions, St. Paul's Como Park Zoo and Conservatory and Minneapolis' American Swedish Institute.

The zoo's free outdoor concert series Groovin' in the Garden takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. each Wednesday in July in front of the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory. Patrons are welcome to pack a picnic and spread out a blanket. There are also food, ice cream, beer and wine options available for purchase.

The lineup includes:

— July 7: Leslie Rich and the Rocket Soul Choir.

— July 14: Innocent Reggae Band.

— July 21: The Flamin' Oh's.

— July 28: Kiss The Tiger.

In case of rain, the concert moves inside the Visitor Center Porch next to the Water Gardens.

The American Swedish Institute's Music in the Courtyard takes place from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursdays starting July 15. The concerts are included with museum admission, which is $12.

The lineup includes:

— July 15: Art Bjorngjeld and Ross Sutter.

— July 22: The McNordiques with special guest Marc Anderson.

— July 29: SlovCzech.

— Aug. 5: Tjärnblom.

— Aug. 12: ALLSÅNG PÅ ASI (Everybody Sing at ASI).
