LM24, Hour 13: Field holds station behind safety car as rain persists

The combination of heavy rainfall and poor visibility has kept the 24 Hours of Le Mans under the Safety Car for the last hour, so there’s been no major change in the running order with 11 hours left.

The No.8 Toyota Gazoo Racing GR010 HYBRID continues to lead with Brendon Hartley at the wheel, circulating behind the safety car with the No.6 Porsche Penske Motorsport 963 of Kevin Estre right behind him.

Eleven cars are on the lead lap in the Hypercar class, with the No.7 Toyota, the No.50 Ferrari AF Corse 499P, and the privateer No.83 AF Corse Ferrari rounding out the top five.

Leading LMP2 teams opted to put their lowest-graded drivers into the cars to fulfill their minimum drive time requirements.

Similarly in LMGT3, the two Manthey Racing Porsches are running 1-2 with Aliaksandr Malykhin leading in the No.92 from Yasser Shahin in the No.91.

Then its the two United Autosports McLarens, the No.59 ahead of the No.95, with the No.27 Heart of Racing Team Aston Martin completing the top five, just at the end of the lead lap.
