Looking for a Brand-New Sports Car? How About This 100-Mile 1995 BMW M3 Lightweight
The BMW M3 Lightweight is a rare bird here in the U.S., with only 60 of the track-focused E36s having made their way to the States. Over the years they've become a full-fledged collectable for M car fans, and this one is no exception. This Lightweight only has 100 miles from new, and after 20 years in collector's hands, it's for sale on–where else?–Bring a Trailer.
Besides the cool name and sweet checkered flag graphics, the M3 Lightweight came complete with a host of different weight-saving features meant to shed time on the track. Reduced sound-deadening, forged alloy wheels, aluminum door skins, carbon fiber trim, a radio delete, and a sunroof delete were all standard on the Lightweight, resulting in 200 pounds less heft than its standard M3 sibling.
Additionally, the Lightweight got a special aero package, a shorter final gear ratio, and an engine hand-picked off the production line for maximum performance.
Unsurprisingly, 22 years of sitting around in a collector garage means this M3 is in near-perfect condition, with all of its original trim and accessories intact and accounted for. You can find it here up for auction with seven days remaining.
