Looks Like Lamborghini Is Testing an Updated Aventador at the Nurburgring

From Road & Track

It's hard to believe, but the Lamborghini Aventador has been with us for over five years, meaning it's due for an update. Yes, the totally ridiculous Aventador SV keeps Lamborgini's V12 flagship at the performance forefront, but the base car needs some love. Thankfully, an update to the Aventador is apparently in the works, and was just spotted logging some testing miles at the Nurburgring.

While this vehicle seems to keep the base car's active rear wing, both the front and rear splitter look like they've taken some inspiration from the Aventador SV. The Aventador's V12 exhaust note remains savage as ever, and it sounds like Lamborghini is sticking with its standard, single-clutch automated manual. A dual-clutch, like the one used in the Huracan, would be great, but it's unclear if it could handle the V12's crazy power.

Considering the Aventador SV laps the Nurburgring in under seven minutes, we expect serious performance from this facelifted model. Hopefully, it can beat an NSX off the line, too.
