Louis Vuitton Bottled The Perfect Sunny Day at the Beach and I Can't Stop Smelling It

Physically, I'm sitting in my 1900s Brooklyn brownstone apartment, wondering how the temperature could still drop down into the 30s this week since it is April.

Mentally, I'm on the beach—Louis Vuitton's sunny, sandy version of the West Coast shore, specifically. I arrived there simply by picking up the French fashion house's newest fragrance, which is bottled in a sunset-ombre glass flacon, spritzing it in a cloud above my head, closing my eyes, and leisurely stepping forward.

A fine mist is made of bright, uplifting Japanese yuzu wakes me up, while orange blossom combines with aromatics like thyme, rosemary, and pink pepper to wrap you in a warm, slightly sandy towel of scent.

So, what's the name of this transporting scent? Why, it's On the Beach, of course. One single whiff of it and I can start to hear the waves gently rolling onto the beach, feel the coolness of the sand as I bury my feet just below the top level, and see the sun reflecting off the ocean, burning my eyes in the best way possible.

Vuitton partnered with longtime collaborator Alex Israel to design the bottle (Israel also worked on the perfumes Sun Song, Cactus Garden, Afternoon Swim, and California Dream) and a matching surfboard inspired by the scent. (Obviously, in my beachy daydreams, I not only know how to surf, but I'm riding this Vuitton board, just like the fragrance's face, Eiza González.)

Fingers crossed we're not too far away from being able to take vacations—and On the Beach has put the West Coast on the top of my list. Until then, I'll take a happy daydream and wear this fragrance.
