  • Maserati's Folgore models won't be the brand's only EVs for long: The Italian automaker is dipping its toe in the warm Adriatic waters by showing off the upcoming Tridente powerboat.

  • Produced in partnership with EV marine company VitaPower, the Tridente features two electric motors that make a combined 600 horsepower and offer a cruising range of up to 43 miles.

  • We've toured a prototype of the vessel, and it's as luxurious as you'd expect; orders are being accepted, with delivery to take around 10 months.

Imagine zooming to the coast in your Maserati for a day on the sea in a matching powerboat. That fantasy could become your reality, as the Italian automaker has shown a prototype of its new Tridente powerboat. And as if a boat joining the lineup wasn't enough of a twist, consider that the Tridente is entirely electric, making it part of an emerging electric boat segment.

Developed in conjunction with EV marine company VitaPower, the Tridente appears to be based on Vita's Lion powerboat concept but features upgrades that make it a true Maserati. There's a large touchscreen at the helm, seating for eight, and a sundeck bed and swim platform at the stern. The Tridente comes with four batteries, two on the starboard side and the other two on the port side.

The 34-foot speedboat has a sleek look, shown here painted in a matte rose gold finish and topped with a cream-colored interior. Under that paint are a carbon-fiber hull and two electric motors totaling 600 horsepower.
