Chevrolet is finally churning out its Blazer EVs at General Motors’ plant in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico, and sending them to their new homes, with prices officially locked in for models expected to launch this calendar year. The all-wheel-drive Blazer EV 2LT AWD’s base price is $56,715, including destination and delivery charges.

That number might sound high for a midsize Chevy crossover, but this will be the most affordable Blazer EV you can buy this year. The Blazer EV RS AWD starts at $60,215, while adding the Bose sound system cranks that price up to $61,790.

If you’re wondering where the more affordable front-wheel-drive models or the more powerful Blazer EV SS pricing is, well, it’s coming. The company is only formalizing pricing for the models that it plans to release this year. Front-drive and SS models are scheduled to hit dealers next year, with pricing to follow.

With Blazer EV deliveries finally happening, it will be interesting to see how this bowtie-wearing EV stacks up against rival EVs, such as the VW ID.4, Ford Mustang Mach-E, Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Nissan Ariya, Subaru Solterra, and Toyota bZ4X. Of those models currently in the market, the ID.4 is No.1 in US sales through June this year, with 16,448 first-half deliveries.
