McLaren employees got an early Christmas present in a 570S finished in MSO's Ceramic Grey paintwork. Reaching the 10,000 vehicle mark just five years after the MP4-12C started production is an achievement well worth celebrating. Of course, that was made easier because the Production Centre now makes 20 cars a day instead of 10, following the introduction of a second shift early this year.

What started out with an idea, an Ultima GTR and two Ferraris progressed into a 5000 car operation in three and a half years, only to double that figure in less than two with the help of McLaren's entry-level wonder, the Sports Series.

Today, the McLaren Production Centre employs about 750 people out of McLaren Automotive's total of around 1750. As you'd expect, the 10,000th car will be retained by the company in its Heritage Collection.
