Legendary NBA Star Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's Classic Ride Set to Turn Heads.

The Monterey 2023 auto event will feature a vintage marvel with a touch of basketball royalty – a 1948 Packard Super 8 Convertible Victoria, cherished and owned by none other than six-time NBA champion, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

For over ten years, this automotive masterpiece has been in the possession of Abdul-Jabbar, celebrated not only for his unparalleled accomplishments on the basketball court but also his commendable contributions as an award-winning columnist at Kareem.substack.com.

This classic, one of only 4,750 Super 8 Convertible Victorias rolled out in 1948, has undergone an extensive restoration and modernization process. It now boasts an upgraded 454/425 HP GM V-8 engine, paired with a 700R4 automatic transmission and a robust 9-inch Ford rear end.

Its sleek black exterior is complemented by a matching black canvas top, accompanied by a black snap-on boot cover. The interior, tailored to accommodate Abdul-Jabbar's towering stature, now has individual Glide front bucket seats. Nonetheless, purists would be pleased to note that the original front seat is still preserved with the car.

Modern enhancements grace this vintage beauty: power windows transitioned to electric motors, a state-of-the-art power-operated convertible top mechanism, and a revamped air conditioning system. Additionally, it's equipped with an updated AM/FM stereo complete with Bluetooth connectivity, power front disc brakes, power steering, and a revamped suspension system fortified with both front and rear sway bars.

The 1948 Packard's blend of history, modern upgrades, and its association with an NBA legend like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar ensures it's bound to be a major attraction at the Monterey 2023 event.
