Meet the Man Who Put 80,000-Miles on His McLaren in Three Years

From Road & Track

Supercars, despite their fantastic ability to make drivers happy, don't actually see that many miles. Owners stash them away in the corner of their garages, opting to only drive them on special occasions. Urs Tschudin is not one of those owners. He's a businessman in Switzerland who's put over 80,000 miles on his McLaren 12C Spider.

Tschudin often has to drive to meet clients for his business, and since he conducts his trade all throughout Europe, he needs a car that can take him anywhere. Instead of buying something cheap or luxurious to pile on the miles, Tschudin decided to take his mid-engine, 616-horsepower supercar instead. He wanted a car that was both comfortable and fun to drive, and the McLaren delivered.

Since many of his customers are in Germany, Tschudin enjoys being able to visit the unrestricted Autobahn with his 12C, and take his car to speeds over 180 mph. He's even taken it through snow, and says it's the best winter car he's ever had.

The guys over at McLaren Automotive have put together a great video documenting Tschudin's experience with the car, as he tells us how he managed to put so many miles on his supercar.
