The Mercedes AA-Class Is a Fantastic Fake Electric Car Powered by AA Batteries

From Road & Track

Most electric cars are powered by the same sort of lithium-ion batteries you find in your laptop and phone, but what if they were powered by something a bit more universal? Something you've already got in countless devices around your house. Something like a good old Duracell AA battery, or perhaps, 9648 of them.

That's the premise of this Saturday Night Live sketch featuring Julia Louis-Dreyfus as the spokesperson for the new Mercedes AA class. What would that car be like? Zero emissions and hilariously terrible.

Thankfully, the Mercedes AA only exists in this hilarious SNL skit. Batteries, as they say, not included.
