Back in November, AMG head Tobias Moers confirmed his division is developing a hardcore Black Series variant of the brand's flagship AMG GT, due out sometime in 2018. Now, thanks to this latest spy video from the Nurburgring, we finally get to see the GT Black Series in action.

Currently, the most track-ready AMG GT you can buy is the extremely capable AMG GT R. With fixed aero pieces, a carbon fiber roof, and 577 horsepower, you'd think the R is more than enough to represent the performance sub-brand. But AMG hasn't stopped there.

This spy video, taken during an industry test session at the 'Ring, reveals what looks to be the upcoming AMG GT Black Series. If you're familiar with the Black Series nameplate, you'll know the title is reserved for only the most extreme Mercedes variants.

This car seems to fit the part well, with a huge rear wing, gigantic intakes, and some serious aero up front. Though we're not sure how much power the Black Series will make, expect it to be more than the 577 hp in the GT R. Watch for yourself as it tears up the 'Ring.
