The Mercedes-Maybach S650 Is Somehow Even More Luxurious than Before

From Road & Track

Do you like the idea of owning a Maybach, but are worried not enough people will see you driving it? Well, Mercedes seems to have a solution, because it's about to unveil a new ultra-luxurious S-Class. And this time, it's a convertible.

In this 15-second teaser video set to soothing music, Mercedes-Benz gives us a glimpse at its latest car in the Mercedes-Maybach lineup, the S650 Cabriolet. While we're not given a picture of the entire car, we do get to see the many Maybach-exclusive appointments to the interior and exterior. Shiny chrome highlights the front bumper, along with signature badges on the seats, fenders, rear, and convertible deck. Perfect for the driver who wants everyone to know they're wheeling the most expensive Mercedes convertible available.

Additionally, we're shown a "1 of 300" badge on the lower dashboard, indicating this may be a limited production model. And thanks to the "650" in the naming scheme, we can assume it will carry a more powerful version of the current S600's twin-turbo V12.

The Maybach S650 Cabriolet is set to be revealed in-full on Wednesday, November 16th, at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Until then, Maybach drivers will have to make due with their regular, unexciting, sedan bodystyles.
