Aston Martin is long overdue to replace the V8 Vantage. The current car has been in production since 2005, which is an eternity in the car world. Not that it's all bad, mind you. The V8 and V12 Vantages are still excellent to drive and they look better than ever. It's one of the rare cars that never aged after it went into production.

But time moves on and change is necessary, so the replacement for the V8 has begun testing, new Mercedes engine and all. This test mule looks nearly identical to the DB11, which does have us partly thinking this might be a lower-priced version of the GT car. However, Aston has never really offered two engines in its upper range cars and we'd expect that to continue.

One thing is for sure: this car, whatever it is, looks very quick. It also sounds great, as it should, since most cars from Mercedes-AMG sound excellent. We can't wait to see the whole car without camo.
