A Spyker C8 supercar, previously owned by iconic rapper Missy Elliott, is currently available for purchase on Facebook Marketplace. This particular model is one of only 266 Spyker C8s ever produced by the Dutch manufacturer before it ceased operations in 2010.
The Spyker C8, known for its jet-inspired aesthetics and high-performance features, debuted in 1999 as the marque's ambitious first model. Despite its innovative design and exclusive status, Spyker struggled financially, leading to the company's eventual bankruptcy and the sale of its supercar division.
Missy Elliott’s C8, specifically a Laviolette version—one of just 32 units imported to the U.S.—stands out with its gloss black exterior and silver roof. The vehicle features distinctive louvered fenders and a prominent roof scoop, with swan-style doors that open upwards to reveal a luxurious two-seater interior. Inside, the cabin is adorned with quilted Ruby leather, aluminum trim, and an aftermarket sound system personally installed by Elliott, enhancing the car’s appeal.
The Spyker C8 eschews modern conveniences like power steering, traction control, and anti-lock brakes, favoring a purist approach to driving that appeals to certain auto enthusiasts. It is equipped with an Audi-sourced 4.2-liter V-8 engine capable of producing over 400 horsepower. This particular car, from the later stages of Spyker's production, includes a more reliable timing chain rather than the timing belt found in earlier models.
Currently, the car shows just 3,880 miles on the odometer and has been well-maintained and detailed under its current ownership. The asking price for this exclusive piece of automotive and celebrity history is set at $599,000, more than double its original price, reflecting its rarity and celebrity connection. The current owner is also open to trades, indicating some flexibility in the negotiation process for this exceptional vehicle.
