Is This The Modern Dukes Of Hazzard?

We’ve just seen a real life car stunt that outdoes all the CGI garbage in the recent Fast and Furious movies. Some guy in Memphis, Tennessee jumped a Mazda over railroad tracks, landing in the front yard of a house, with the whole thing caught on surveillance footage.

Watch a woman fleeing from police get hit by two trains.

As pointed out by a reporter from Fox13 Memphis, where the guy launched his car like he was auditioning for The Dukes of Hazzard there’s a T-intersection. The driver blew through it at a pretty good clip, running off the road, launching off a berm, over the railroad tracks, and straight onto the news.

However, the driver didn’t stick around to get the congratulations his stunt deserved, but later returned with his girlfriend, who apparently is the owner of the car. We wonder if they’re still going out and how he explained jumping her vehicle like it was the General Lee.

When police showed up they slapped the driver with several citations, but he at least didn’t get arrested, probably because the car wasn’t stolen for a change. That had to have been a relief to police. Seriously, car theft in Memphis is a huge problem. But we bet his Valentine’s was spent in solitude.
