Shelby American launched its first-ever upgrade package for an electric vehicle on Wednesday, based on the 480-hp Ford Mustang Mach-E GT. Shelby's kit includes new wheels, a retuned suspension, and carbon fiber upgrades, but no power mods.

As part of the kit, the hood, upper grille, splitter, mirror caps, and door trims have all been replaced with Shelby-made carbon fiber pieces. There's also a handling package that lowers the Mach-E by over one inch, along with a set of lightweight aluminum wheels. Inside you'll find Le Mans-themed "over the top" color-coordinated vinyl striping, along with a numbered dash plaque. There are other Shelby badges scattered throughout the car, both inside and on the exterior.

The Shelby Mustang Mach-E GT will also come with Borla's active performance sound system as standard. First shown in late 2022, it's a speaker system mounted under the car that pairs to an amplifier to produce a synthetic internal combustion engine exhaust sound using real-time data from the car to mirror revs and acceleration.

Shelby American plans to produce just 100 examples of its Mach-E upgrade kit starting in July, priced from €24,900 (around $27,500) plus the price of a donor car. The price is listed in Euros because Shelby only plans to sell the kit to people in Europe.

“We elected to initially offer the Shelby Mustang Mach-E GT only in Europe because sales of EV's are growing much more rapidly there than in the U.S.A.,” said Aaron Shelby, company board member and grandson of founder Carroll Shelby. “And from 2016 to 2021, the number of public EV charging stations increased by 431 percent across Europe. It just makes good business sense for Shelby American.”
