• When you buy a new car, you want to know that it’s going to last awhile. To predict how reliable new cars, trucks, and SUVs are likely to be in the future, J.D. Power synthesizes relevant data from its annual Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) and Initial Quality Study (IQS), converting the information into predicted reliability Power Circle Ratings.
  
  Listed in alphabetical order on the pages that follow are the top-rated non-luxury sedans in terms of predicted reliability, according to J.D. Power. Note that the ratings measure a model’s predicted reliability in comparison with other models in that specific car’s market segment, and is not a reflection of how it may fare when compared with all models in this guide.

• 2016 Buick LaCrosse

  A full-size sedan originally designed to meet the preferences of customers in China, where Buick is a popular brand, the LaCrosse is about to be replaced by an all-new 2017 model. In the meantime, the outgoing version is offered with a gas-electric hybrid drivetrain or with a V-6 engine. All-wheel drive is also available, but only with the V-6.

• 2016 Buick Verano

  Sharing a platform with the first-generation Chevrolet Cruze and styling with the European-market Opel Astra, the Buick Verano is a dependable compact sedan offered in regular strength and turbocharged formats. Buick has announced that it will not replace the Verano in its U.S. lineup, so after a short production run for the 2017 model year, it will be discontinued.
