The week Audi revealed pricing for its most affordable EV yet, one that's headed to dealerships later this year. The Q4 e-tron family, based on VW Group's MEB platform, will start at $44,995 prior to any federal or local incentives when it goes on sale in a matter of weeks, becoming the Ingolstadt-based automaker's latest addition to its expanding EV lineup.

Just like the Volkswagen ID4, the Q4 40 e-tron will be offered with rear-wheel drive in base form, serving up 201 hp and 229 lb-ft of torque—figures that should be familiar to those who've been following the debut of MEB platform cars—and will be able to make the sprint from 0 to 60 in 7.9 seconds. One figure that's missing for now is the model's official EPA range, but we expect it to land pretty close to the ID.4's 260-mile range.
