Ford Motor Co. [NYSE:F] has in recent weeks issued a recall for 2014 F-150 equipped with Electronic Power Assist Steering (EPAS). On affected vehicles, an incorrectly installed EPAS gear motor position sensor magnet may lead to impaired steering, including loss of steering control, which could increase the risk of a crash.

In recent months Ford has issued steering recalls covering almost 920,000 vehicles. At root of Ford's most recent steering recall involving Escapes, Explorers, and Mercury Mariners, ranging from 2008 to 2013, was either faulty steering control software or the complete steering gear assembly.

Dealers will replace the steering gear assembly on affected vehicles. Affected title branded and salvage vehicles are eligible for this recall. Any related damage to this condition may be eligible for repair under the recall as well.
