2014 Land Rover Overview
Land Rover has been busy in recent years developing and launching all-new and redesigned models, a trend that shows no signs of slowing. For 2014, the LR4 arrives with a standard supercharged V-6 engine, as well as an 8-speed automatic transmission, single-speed transfer case, and a host of updated safety-related options. Similarly, the 2014 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport offer the new V-6 and optional safety equipment, though the latter has been completely redesigned and now boasts all-new styling, a longer and lighter platform, reengineered chassis, and more.
Changes made to the 2014 Range Rover Evoque 3- and 5-door models are less dramatic, though the company suggests a new 4-wheel-drive (4WD) system and 9-speed automatic transmission will improve handling and efficiency.
The Land Rover LR2, an entry-level model that was significantly revised for the 2013 model year, returns with a new navigation system interface and expanded satellite radio functionality.
Land Rover made significant changes to its 2013 LR2, so it comes as little surprise to learn that the 2014 model arrives with only minor updates. These include a revised satellite radio system and an infotainment system featuring what Land Rover claims is a "more responsive" touch-screen display.
Buyers have the choice of base, HSE, and HSE Lux trim levels, all equipped with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine. All-wheel-drive (AWD) capability is standard.

Behind the 2014 Land Rover LR4's updated styling is a new standard supercharged, 3.0-liter V-6 engine that delivers 340 horsepower and is mated to a new 8-speed automatic transmission. The V-8 engine and 6-speed gearbox combination found in previous LR4 models is no longer available. Land Rover claims the new powertrain offers improved fuel economy, due in part to a new start/stop assist system.
Available in base, HSE, and HSE Lux trim levels, the 2014 LR4 also boasts a new standard 4WD system with a single-speed transfer case, safety features including a blind-spot monitoring system and a rear cross-path detection system, and an 825-watt premium audio package.

Like the LR4, base and HSE versions of the 2014 Range Rover are now equipped with a supercharged V-6 engine in lieu of the normally aspirated V-8 that previously resided in the SUV. A new start/stop assist system has been added, as well. The company claims fuel economy has been improved by 21% in city driving and 15% on the highway.
Joining the powertrain upgrades are new safety features that will arrive midway through the 2014 model year. These include aids designed to assist drivers when exiting a parallel parking space and entering tight spots in a parking lot. Range Rover has also made specific updates to the Autobiography trim level, adding a standard 1,700-watt surround-sound system and active rear locking differential.

2014 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque
A couple of noteworthy changes have been made to the sleek 2014 Range Rover Evoque, with perhaps the most notable being the debut of an all-new 4WD system that deactivates at speeds above 22 mph in an effort to improve fuel efficiency, and distributes torque to various wheels to provide better traction and superior handling. The technology is standard on all Evoque trim levels.
Also new for 2014 is a 9-speed automatic transmission, and safety features such as Parking Exit and intelligent cruise control with an integrated forward-collision warning system.

2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport
Following on the heels of the completely redesigned 2013 Range Rover, the 2014 Range Rover Sport arrives with all-new styling, seating for up to 7 passengers, safety features shared with other Land Rover models, a standard 4WD system with single-speed transfer case, updated air suspension system, and a standard supercharged V-6 engine that replaces the previous Sport's base V-8. A 510-horsepower, supercharged V-8 engine remains standard on Supercharged and Autobiography trim levels.
