2015 Nissan Versa Sedan Remains Least Expensive Car in America, Despite Upgrades
At the 2014 New York International Auto Show, Nissan is introducing a refreshed 2015 Versa Sedan that features revised styling, added standard equipment, and new options. The price, however, doesn't budge, remaining at $12,800 including a destination charge of $810.
"It's critical that we keep Versa's look and feel fresh and its value equation high, with a rewarding driving and ownership experience," said Pierre Loing, vice president, product planning, Nissan North America, Inc. "With its bolder appearance, more standard content and no increase in starting MSRP, the 2015 Versa Sedan has more to offer than ever."
Revised exterior styling brings the 2015 Nissan Versa Sedan in line with the larger Sentra and midsize Altima models. Front and rear bumper designs are new, along with larger headlights and standard chrome trim for the grille. Fog lights on the 2015 Versa Sedan (if equipped) have a revised finisher design, the SV and SL trim levels get new side mirror designs, and the Versa SL Sedan gains integrated turn signal indicators on the side mirror caps. New Graphite Blue and Amethyst Gray paint colors also debut for the 2015 Versa Sedan.
For 2015, all Versa Sedan models gain a new center control panel design and revised gauges with white rather than orange nighttime illumination. New standard equipment for the Versa S Sedan includes an upgraded standard audio system with speed-sensitive volume and a radio data system, as well as Bluetooth connectivity, new steering wheel design equipped with audio and Bluetooth system controls, front map lights, illuminated entry system, front passenger vanity mirror, folding assist grips, and upgraded seat cloth.
The 2015 Versa SV Sedan also adds standard equipment in the form of an outside temperature display, USB port and iPod connection, map lights, and an upgraded fabric headliner. The SL get a new 5-in. audio display and NissanConnect with Mobile Apps technology, which provides access to Facebook, Pandora, Google search, and more.
The revisions for the 2015 model mean that aside from a 4-speed automatic that replaces the standard 5-speed manual gearbox in the Versa S Sedan, there are just two options. The new SV Alloy Wheel package adds unique V-spoke wheels to the SV trim level. The SL Tech package gains a RearView Monitor for 2015, and continues to offer a 5.8-in. color touch screen, navigation system, voice-recognition technology, real-time traffic reports, and more.
Nissan says the 2015 Versa Sedan goes on sale in April 2014.
