NextEV's 1360-hp Electric Supercar Caught Testing at the Nurburgring

From Road & Track

If you can't keep up with every single startup that promises it's developing an electric supercar, we can't blame you. It seems like at every car show, another one pops up with a generic concept car and promises world-beating performance. Many of them are never heard from again. But NextEV might actually have something.

An electric supercar, reportedly a NextEV test vehicle, was recently spotted testing on the Nurburgring. Not much is known about the car, but CarNewsChina reports it will have 1360 horsepower, a top speed of 186 mph, and will hit 60 mph in three seconds flat. If so, that would make for one seriously quick electric car. And judging by the size of that wing, it should also make pretty significant downforce.

Of course, if NextEV has an electric vehicle record in mind, its going to have to beat Toyota's time of 7:22. It'll also potentially have to fend off Rimac's 1088-horsepower Concept One. We haven't seen the Concept One lay down any lap times yet, but we have seen it destroy a Porsche 918. And while a Tesla Model S P100D is quicker in a straight line, Teslas tend to overheat on the track.

Still, despite stiff competition and long odds, the car in the short video below looks like it has the potential to be more than capable.
