Nissan Frontier to Offer $9999 Forsberg Racing-Inspired Package

For anyone who wants their Nissan Frontier to cosplay as a desert-racing champion, there's a forthcoming dealer-installed package that will tip their fancy. The Forsberg Edition is inspired by the team that recently won the NORRA 500 race that takes place in Mexico. Nissan plans to show the Frontier outfitted with the Forsberg equipment at the Chicago auto show later this week.

Chris Forsberg and his racing team took a Frontier from the factory and upgraded it with knobbier tires and NISMO parts to ensure it could survive the abuse of ripping 500 miles across the Baja desert. That truck was shown at last year's SEMA show, and while the limited-edition Forsberg package doesn't come with the decal-laden livery, it includes many of the same upgrades.

The dealer-installed kit comes with beadlock-capable Axis wheels mounted on Yokohama Geolander mud-terrain tires (size 265/70R-17) as well as an off-road suspension that's lifted with upgraded shocks and forged upper control arms. The Forsberg Frontier features rock sliders and a low-profile roof rack with integrated LED lights too. A special edition also wouldn't be complete without exclusive visual callouts like the multiple exterior graphics and the badge on the base of the gear shifter.

Nissan says the Forsberg Edition will go on sale sometime this fall for $9999. The company says the dealer can install the package on 2022-or-newer Frontier models configured with a crew cab. The least expensive 2024 Nissan Frontier crew cab is the S trim that starts at $32,840; opting for four-wheel drive adds $3000.
