Yahoo Autos Now You Can Pit NASCAR Racers Against Le Mans Prototypes in Forza Motorsport 6
Forza Motorsport 6 is a great way to get a taste of the world's most competitive forms of racing, but it's had one major blind spot since the beginning: NASCAR, America's far-and-away most popular motorsport. That all ends today, with the introduction of a massive NASCAR expansion pack for the XBox racing simulator. And it's got some fantastically bizarre possibilities.
The $20 NASCAR expansion pack offers 24 current-season cars from five teams: Chip Ganassi Racing, Joe Gibbs Racing, Stewart-Haas Racing, Hendrick Motorsports, and Team Penske. Check out the full list of available cars here. It also brings a new-to-the-game race track, Homestead-Miami Speedway, available in all modes of play.
But your new NASCAR rides won't just be limited to NASCAR tracks. The niftiest thing about this expansion pack is that you can pit the stock cars against all the different types of racers available in Forza, at any track. Wanna run with the IndyCars at Indianapolis? Sure. Wanna rattle the bleachers at Le Mans with your Sprint Cup stocker? Go right ahead. Fancy a more realistic match-up? The Daytona oval beckons.
In addition, the expansion pack brings a new NASCAR World Tour career with over 10 hours of racing, and NASCAR-themed Rivals, Leagues and multiplayer hoppers. Rolling starts, a new Quick Stop mode, and a more complex drafting simulation add to the complexity of NASCAR-style pack racing.
