The 2024 Land Rover Defender is getting a ton of new trim levels, including a 493-hp supercharged V-8 model for the eight-seat 130.

The 5.0-liter V-8 joins the two turbo straight-six engines already available for the Defender 130, promising 450 lb-ft of torque and a 0-60 time of 5.4 seconds. The Defender 130 V8 also gets quad exhaust tips, a sliding panoramic roof, LED headlights, and 22-inch grey alloy wheels. Inside you'll find 14-way power seats with heating and cooling functions, a heated steering wheels, a head-up display, and heated seats for the back two rows.

The 130 isn't the only Defender trim to get this new 493-hp V-8. The Defender 110 gains it as an option as well, joining the more powerful 525-hp V-8 already available in the lineup. That means you now can get a four-cylinder, six-cylinder, or two different eight-cylinder engines engine in your Defender 110. The 493-hp P500 is a compelling proposal over the 525-hp P525 since it's $18,500 cheaper, priced from $93,000 plus destination.

Also new for 2024 is the Defender 130 Outbound. A sort of overlanding special, it deletes the third row in favor of more storage space for things like camping, climbing, or biking gear. It also gets 20-inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires as standard.
