Yahoo Autos These Nurburgring Crashes Are Hard to Watch, But You'll Watch Anyway
I don't enjoy watching videos of people crashing their cars, and yet, I can't look away from this compilation of recent Nürburgring wrecks. It's not like I'm feeling any sort of schadenfruede here–the 'Ring is one of the hardest race tracks in the world, so crashes are inevitable. If anything, I feel bad for these people.
Sure, some drivers are overly ambitious, but not all of them. For every person who ends up in the grass after entering a corner a little too hot, it seems there's at least one other person else who spins out in weather conditions way beyond their control.
And yet, I can't look away. Perhaps it's the quick tension of the initial loss of grip, and the release of the inevitable shunt. Maybe there's something mesmerizing about seeing car after car lose it in the same corner. Or, I might be a horrible person deep down, and I can't admit it to myself.
