Odell Beckham Jr. claps back at claim he asked NFL teams for a $20 million/year deal

After a year away from the game, it seems that former LSU receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is poised to make a comeback.

The 30-year-old looked good in a recent workout, and he has reportedly been in discussions with several teams. Still, despite clear interest from a number of franchises, Beckham remains unsigned.

One theory as to why was posed by Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, who reported that Beckham had asked for a deal that would net him $20 million annually. That report was later disputed by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, but if that wasn’t enough, Beckham took to Twitter to shoot the rumor down himself on Saturday morning.

Well, it looks like we at least know what the lowball offer was.

After a frustrating stint to begin the 2021 season with the Cleveland Browns, Beckham ended up in Los Angeles where he played a big role down the stretch in guiding the Rams to a Super Bowl.

However, he tore his ACL in that game, and the rehab held him out for the beginning of the 2022 season. Several teams considered signing him late last season, but a deal never materialized.

We’ll see if that goes differently this time around as Beckham attempts to reignite his career.
