A woman bought a lottery ticket at her workplace — and scored a record-breaking win in North Carolina.

“This is going to change our life,” Marsha Camp told the N.C. Education Lottery after the $1.1 million win.

Now, she and her partner, James Davis, plan to put the prize money toward a new home.

“We can build our house now,” Camp said in a March 17 news release. “This is amazing.”

The couple experienced the lucky moment after a trip to a Handy House convenience store in the Smyrna area, roughly 160 miles southeast of Raleigh. While at the store, officials said the two spent $20 to play the 100X The Cash game.

Camp, who works at Handy House, said she wasn’t on duty when she and Davis bought the winning ticket.
