Yahoo Autos Old Michigan Barn Hides Treasure Trove of Alfas
Hagerty's Barn Find Hunter series has a habit of finding some spectacular pieces of automotive history stashed away in the unlikeliest of places, and its latest episode is no different. This time around, host Tom Cotter visits a barn in Northern Michigan peppered with neglected foreign metal, including some seriously cool Alfa Romeos.
Farm owner David Korwin invited Cotter down to his storage barn to give a tour of his collection, accumulated in part by his father in the 1950s and 1960s. Outside in the grass sit an Alfa Romeo 2000 convertible, a Citroen 2CV, and a Porsche 914, all slowly being taken back by nature. But the really cool stuff lies inside the barn.
On the right side wall sits a mostly-complete 1957 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint that looks like it's been sitting for 30 years, painted in a lovely shade of turquoise. Korwin says his dad bought the car used in 1959, and drove it daily. In front of the Giulietta rests a yellow-painted 1966 Giulia GTV in a similar state of disrepair. This car was in an accident at some point, and instead of repairing it with factory parts, Korwin's dad decided to make a custom fascia with headlights from another car. Also present is a sweet 1940 Dodge transport truck.
