On January 2, car culture icon Ken Block perished after a snowmobile crash. It brought a premature end to the life of a man who seemed to have more fun than almost anyone behind the wheel. But Block won't truly wave his way into the sunset until next month, when his final, as-of-yet unreleased Gymkhana film "Electrikhana Two" debuts.

The film was announced with a surprise teaser trailer released Tuesday through Hoonigan's YouTube channel. Block is depicted driving his purpose-built Audi S1 Hoonitron EV, a mostly carbon fiber, all-electric tribute to the Sport Quattro S1 Pikes Peak. The car first starred in his groundbreaking 2022 Las Vegas gymkhana video, succeeding a series of Fords and marking the first entry where Block drove an EV. It won't remain his last though, as the surprise trailer reveals.

Details throughout the video suggest the next (and final) installment will take place in Mexico, as evidenced by a Spanish-language road sign pointing to Cuernavaca. It may be a wink and a nudge at street racers who claim they film their races "in Mexico," or maybe it's Hoonigan's way of following the Mexican racing hype driven by Forza Horizon 5. 'Electrikhana Two' was filmed "late last year," shortly before Block's death, according to the trailer's description.

In any case, the film evidently features stunts like reverse-entry drifts over bumps, holding a slide around a large roundabout, and the kind of driving around airport tarmac that the rest of us could only dream of. What all Block will get up to will be revealed in full when his last hurrah is released some time in December. It might not be the finale to the gymkhana series that fans (or Block himself) might have hoped for, but it's one more entry that nobody expected to come out anyway. And we'll have to be satisfied with the posthumous bonus track, even if it'll leave a bittersweet taste in our mouths.
