Brabus, a German tuner known for its outrageous custom Mercedes-Benzes, has created some pretty cool stuff over the years. This one-of-one track-ready 190E might be the coolest. It's for sale, and you should buy it.

Welcome to You Must Buy, our daily look at the cars you really should be buying instead of that boring commuter sedan.

The small German sedan segment was highly popular in the 1980s, led by cars such as the Mercedes 190E and BMW E30 3-Series. Brabus wanted in on the action, so it made this car, the 3.6S Lightweight. It used a heavily reworked 3.6-liter, 286-horsepower version of the 190E's 2.6-liter inline-six, as well as Bilstein dampers, Eibach springs, lightweight bucket seats, and a bodykit. Brabus even went as far as putting in a roll cage. Thanks to the weight loss and big engine, it was able to hit 0-60 mph in 6.3 seconds, and a top speed of 158 mph.

According to the sellers at Fast Classics in the UK, this car wasn't actually built in-period, but rather just a decade ago on the request of Brabus's PR manager Sven Gramm. It turns out, Brabus customers weren't too interested in owning a Mercedes sedan without air conditioning or back seats, so Brabus never sold a true lightweight 3.6S-the only cars sold had air conditioning and back seats installed. Even the original Lightweight car had its A/C and seats put back in before being sold.

The car shown here was built with original parts where available, and had bespoke pieces made to recreate the initial design as Brabus intended in 1988. According to Fast Classics, Brabus spent 10 months and used its original blueprints to put the car together. After enjoying the car for eight years, Gramm sold it to a buyer in the UK in 2016, who has since driven it sparingly. It has just 9977 miles on the clock, and remains in spectacular condition.

Find it here for sale on Fast Classics' site listed for £131,995 (around $175,000).
