OVC Shelby GT350R: Better Than the Original

In case you haven't heard already: Original Shelby employees are building continuation 1965 Shelby Mustang GT350Rs, and the cars are simply fantastic. The California-based team calls themselves the Original Venice Crew (OVC), since they were employees for the original Shelby American back in the day.

Now the team has joined forces once again to turn normal 1965 Mustangs into GT350Rs. But these aren't your average continuations-the team, as they did back when the car was new, is ever improving on the design, adding things like a 440-horsepower motor, a Ford Performance clutch, and independant rear suspension.

We drove one of the OVC's cars back in November, and found it just as good as the original, but better in many ways. Jeff Glucker of The Hooniverse was lucky enough to get some track time in one, and judging by the high praise given in the video below, it's safe to say he liked it as well.
