From Road & Track

Back in the 1950s, legendary Scottish race team Ecurie Ecosse modified a Commer truck to transport its Jaguar D-Types to various races. In the 1980s, Dick Skipworth decided he needed a better way to get his D-Type replica to the track than simply driving it there and back. Through a friend, he tracked down the original Ecurie Ecosse transporter, and had it refurbished for road use.

Over 25 years later, you can see Skipworth's bus parading around the grounds of Goodwood Circuit, not transporting D-Types, but spectators. It's the perfect way to get around the track.

The old Commer is an interesting vehicle. Ecurie Ecosse picked it largely for its compact engine, a three-cylinder two-stroke (!), which was mounted under the floor. That meant there was room for three cars and a race weekend's worth of spares.

This bus just about the perfect accessory for the D-Type. Too bad there's only one in existence.
