During a trip to Europe a couple of months back, I had the opportunity to drive the cheapest new EV available over there and to photograph some interesting street-parked cars. I also managed to hit one of the legendary flea markets of Paris during a brief jaunt to that city, scoring a beautiful if somewhat mystifying vintage European movie poster there.
Since the biggest Parisian flea markets are open only on weekends and I was there midweek, the Marché d'Aligre in the 12th Arrondissement was the best choice for weekday shopping for interesting car-related items and old film cameras. There were some excellent seller-owned beater vans parked around the perimeter, including this Citroën Jumper aka Fiat Ducato.
It was a cold and drizzly February morning, so the selection was both damp and on the thin side. Still, what home bar could do without a LE PLUS GRAND FÊTARD DU MONDE (The World's Greatest Party Animal) beer glass?
I was tempted by a genuine, numbers-matching Peugeot jitterbug sander, but supplying it with Euro-grade 230VAC/50Hz power in the United States would have been a headache. You can still buy new Peugeot sanders in France, by the way.
There were some toy cars I found interesting, but even my French-speaking wife proved unable to make the seller budge from his outlandish price on a diecast Peugeot 504.
