People have a lot to say after Mississippi Sports Illustrated resort goes viral on Twitter

Now trending on Twitter: A multi-million dollar development plan that would bring a Sports Illustrated resort to the Mississippi Coast.

The $410 million project — which will include hotels, restaurants, a Crystal Lagoon water resort and other unique amenities will be one of the first built in the United States.

The D’Iberville location is situated off Interstate 10 in an area known for shopping that’s about an hour away from Mobile, Alabama, and 90 minutes from New Orleans.

The announcement first broke by the Sun Herald is going viral on Twitter, with residents, officials and sports reporters from across the US getting in on the conversation.

Some are drawing comparisons to “Ozark” and “The Righteous Gemstones”, on Netflix and HBO max, respectively, while others have been quick to jokingly deem Biloxi native and Sports Illustrated reporter Ross Dellenger as the culprit behind the Coast getting the resort.

There was even a comment about a Bass Pro Shop in Memphis.
